Lumo is a mission-driven, fast-growing Smart AgTech start-up based in Sonoma County, the heart of northern California wine country. We help growers conserve their most precious resources - time, water, and money - using the most advanced water technology available.
The Operations Specialist Role
As an Operations Specialist (aka Water Wizard), you’ll work with clients to guarantee they love watering their crops with Lumo. As a member of the Client Success team, you’ll provide:
- Outstanding client communication and support, in-field and remote
- Comprehensive irrigation data analysis
- System implementation and maintenance of Lumo smart valves
- Top-notch client education and product demonstration
- Savvy software training and oversight, IoT solutions, and hardware assembly
Your Day-to-Day
- Hybrid in-field and desk role. Want sweeping vineyard views? Congrats, welcome to your new office (driving required). Want to sip coffee at your desk? That too.
- No two days are the same. This is a boredom-free role.
- Both independent and team work with incredible communication
- Report to the Director of Client Success
Your Wizardly Responsibilities
- Perform initial site visits, liaise with the sales team, and complete installations
- Onboard new clients to our software, the Lumo Ops Center
- Work with the engineering and product teams to configure systems
- Proactively identify issues and provide on-site hardware maintenance
- Analyze irrigation data and system health metrics to meet clients’ irrigation goals
- Collaborate with sales team to support renewals and expansion opportunities

Qualities You Possess
- Passion for supporting farmers at the family and corporate scales
- Proven track record of working in a client-facing role
- Team player with the ability to work independently and attention to detail
- Interest in and ability to learn basic data analysis and technical skills in IoT devices
Qualifications
- Residence in or proximity to Sonoma and Napa Counties, California
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license, ability and willingness to travel to job sites regularly
- Ability to perform physical work in-field
- Proficiency in Spanish and agriculture or irrigation experience considered assets
